From Crib to Toddler Bed

This weekend we took off Annie's crib rail and put up the toddler rail. In a couple of weeks she'll be moving to her big girl bed, but this first transition has gone very smoothly so far. She has done well staying in her room (I don't really care if she stays in bed or not--as you'll see below she's gotten out of bed at naptime but not at night).

At nap time yesterday she was quiet for about 15 minutes, then I heard little pitter-patter feet across the floor. But she didn't come out of her room so I didn't interfere. Then I heard thud, thud, thud. More pitter-patter feet. More thuds. Then quiet. After about 30 minutes I peeked in to see Annie curled up asleep on top of almost every book on her shelf! Pretty adorable, I think.
