Baby C Update

Some of you may remember "Baby C," a baby boy we cared for during his first five weeks of life. He left our home so he could be placed in the same foster home as his older sister, as soon as he was old enough to go to day care. Last week the Gent and I attended a foster parent training meeting and had a God-ordained meeting with Baby C's adoptive family! I struck up a conversation with another mom, asked her about her children, and she told me she had a daughter and a 2 1/2 year old son with Baby C's name who was born in October. A few questions later and I realized we had the privilege of caring for her son as a newborn! She and her husband adopted Baby C and his big sister about a year ago. The Gent and I were so excited to hear that he now has a forever family and was able to stay with his sister. We typically don't know what happens to our foster babies after they leave our home, and it was such a blessing to be able to see how this little boy has thrived!

Baby C: One Month

Baby C is a growing boy! He has great head control and can already roll over from tummy to back. He is an easy baby except he is not sleeping more than 2 1/2 hours at a time. He has to eat every three hours or he thinks he is starving. The Gent takes care of Baby C at night so I can sleep, and I think he is getting pretty tired. Baby C has been a joy to have around and we've loved caring for him during his newborn days.

He should be moving on to his next foster home the end of this week or early next week. He has a big sister already in care and he will be going to the same home where she is--we are excited for him to be placed with a sibling and know he will be well cared for. His mama is doing well. I was able to meet her last week and we had a nice visit with Baby C. We are praying that she will continue on the good path she is on and that her family will be able to be reunited in the coming months.

Newborn Time Again

Baby C arrived yesterday evening. He was born on Friday and has a head full of dark hair! The plan is for him to be with us for about six weeks--we'll see. Last night he was more interested in being held than sleeping in the cradle, but he finally got the hang of it about 2am. And unless he's eating, he's been sleeping since. :P About time to wake him up and keep him up for a couple of hours! Baby C, you are a cutie pie but the grownups would like a little more sleep tonight. JJ and Annie are busy pointing to him, saying "baby," and trying out the bouncy seat.
