Thomas: 24 Months

Our precious youngest son is two! What a delight he has been ever since his birth. He is our family sunshine and there is so much love wrapped up in him. At 24 months, Thomas loves trucks, trains, cars, tractors--pretty much anything with wheels. He likes to spend his time playing outside, reading, and eating. He is an easy toddler and enjoys playing around us while we do school in the morning. We are very, very thankful that he is easy-going and cheerful. Happy birthday, Thomas!

Thomas: 23 Months

Inching so close to two! Thomas is starting to think he's a big boy these days. He talks and talks and talks, and his comprehension is excellent. Last week he announced, "Mama, my cracker all gone!" He loves to play outside and adores trucks--watching them, playing with them, reading about them. He starts asking "when Daddy home?" after nap and he's still a snuggle bug. Can't believe he'll be two in just a few weeks!

Thomas: 22 Months

22 months with this precious boy! These aren't the greatest pictures but they show you how busy he is...he was not going to stand and smile for the camera. ;) Thomas loves trucks, cars, and all other motor vehicles. He likes to sit in front of his window with a pile of books and watch for cars and the garbage truck. He adores his siblings and the feeling is mutual. I weaned him this month but he still loves to snuggle. He's the sweetest and the best baby forever!

Thomas: 21 Months

Thomas just keeps getting more and more fun! He still loves to snuggle, runs everywhere, and learns new words every day. Yesterday's word was "read." He kept bringing us books, climbing on our laps, and demanding, "read!" Thomas has become more adept at climbing this month and is so proud of himself. His favorite food is still graham crackers, but pizza and pasta are high on his list. He's close to giving up that morning nap and then we'll have to rearrange our school schedule a bit, but he plays well by himself and doesn't get into mischief the way some of my other children did at his age. ;) We love you, Thomas!

Thomas: 20 Months

At 20 months, Thomas won't hold still for a picture. He still adores books, also trucks ("Zoom!") and Jacob's old Batcave and action figures ("BatBat"). He loves his Mama, and this month Daddy has started getting hugs, too. Thomas's favorite foods are graham crackers, pizza, and any kind of meat. He likes most fruits and very few vegetables. Thomas tries out new words every day, and has started combining words into phrases. He likes to put on shoes because he knows then we are going outside. He throws himself on the floor and screams when he doesn't get his way. Sorry, buster, you're the youngest of five--we've seen plenty of tantrums and one has yet to be effective. Ever. Ask your brother and sisters. ;) Thomas is still the cutest baby ever and I guess someday soon we will graduate him to toddler status...but he'll always be the baby!

Thomas: 19 Months

Thomas was not interested in posing for any pictures--he wanted to run through the grass and walk up and down the stairs with Daddy. We all adore this baby boy. Sometimes he feels a bit smothered by his siblings, I think. ;) At 19 months, Thomas continues to love being outside and reading books. Some current favorites are The Very Busy Spider and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See. He is cutting his one year old molars. He's still nursing 3-4 times a day, and taking two naps. We're going to keep up that morning nap as long as possible; it makes school with the big kids easier. Thomas loves chicken, sweet potatoes, and strawberries. He also really loves his mama. He's my snuggle-buddy, and I'm soaking it up while it lasts. His hair is growing (and curling) and that little dimple has us all cooing over him!

 

Thomas: 18 Months

Thomas is a year and a half old. He tries new words out on us every day--ball, up, book. His favorite word is bye-bye, accompanied by waving and walking to the door. He loves to play outside and go places. He's a snuggle bug and we love him to pieces.

Thomas: 17 Months

Babycakes is precious at this stage. Thomas is walking everywhere but doesn't like shoes. He likes to be read to more and more and often brings us books to read. He loves to snuggle with his Mama. He is an awesome napper but still not a great night time sleeper. He keeps trying out new sounds and words and is very pleased when we figure out what he wants and very displeased when we don't! Thomas loves to be outside and wants to go "bye-bye" all the time. We are so thankful for this munchkin; he remains the very best baby ever!

Thomas: 16 Months

Babycakes is 16 months old. Thomas is walking now and tries out new words every day. His favorites remain yay and uh-oh! He also says yeah and thank you a lot. So cute! He loves to be read to, especially Sandra Boynton's Snuggle Puppy. He enjoys the silly songs we make up for his entertainment. He also likes to "help" me in the kitchen. He has his favorite cooking pot and spoon to play with on the floor while I prepare meals. We love you, Thomas!

Thomas: 15 months

Thomas is 15 months old! He is 31 3/4 inches tall and weighs 20 lbs, 15,4 oz. He stands on his own, cruises furniture, and walks with the doll stroller, but hasn't taken a step on his own yet. He sure is a fast crawler! He definitely gets where he wants to go. This month he has become very interested in the snacks in the kitchen cabinets. ;) He loves to sit and look at books and be read to. He is snuggly sometimes. He says Mama, Dada, yeah, uh-oh, and yay. He mimics us when we say things and he has long conversations with lots of inflection. Thomas loves to be outside, take baths, and go for walks. He's adorable, for sure!

Thomas: 14 Months

Sweet baby Thomas is 14 months old. I think he really might be the most loved baby ever. He gets snuggles and kisses all day long. Most of the time, he loves it. However, he has learned the "stiff arm" this month and ocassionally uses it on his siblings when he needs some space. ;) This month Thomas is standing on his own and cruising all around and walking with his big sister's doll stroller. I bet he's still a month or two away from walking on his own. He has gotten super-fast at crawling in the meantime! He is also very interested in books now. His current favorites are Farmblock, Goodnight Moon, and Freight Train. He will find them out of all the other books on his shelf. It is very cute. Thomas loves to be outside and to go for walks in the stroller. He is usually pretty easy-going, but he can throw a good fit when things don't go his way. Thomas is finally sleeping from 7pm-5:30am, then nursing and going back to sleep will about 7:30am. It is hard to learn to sleep through the night when you share a room with your brother! Thomas, you are a delight and we adore you. Even if you were not in a smiling mood for these pictures.

Thomas: 13 Months

Thomas loves to play the "so big" game, wave bye-bye, says Dada, yay, hey, bye, rarely Mama, and I think he has a sound he's making for Jacob. He does love his big brother! He does not like it when his siblings pick him up when he is happily playing and he's beginning to express his displeasure by biting. We're working on that. ;) He either loves to eat or doesn't want to eat at all. He's finally starting to come around on drinking from a cup. He still takes two good naps a day and I'm in no hurry for him to give up the morning nap--it makes it a lot easier for us to focus on our schoolwork when he is snoozing. He is in the phase where he really loves his toys, manipulating them and figuring out how they work. He has four (almost six) teeth. He is growing into his 12-18 month clothes; he is long and lean. He can stand for a few seconds and loves to pull up and cruise, but has no interest in walking holding onto our hands. Happy 13 months to Thomas!

Thomas: Twelve Months

And just like that, my last baby is ONE. What an amazing year it has been. Thomas, our family is abundantly thankful for you. I never realized how much joy and healing you would bring to our whole family. The Lord gave us such a gift in you. After a year, your siblings are more enchanted with you than ever. The love they have for you is precious to see. And of course your Daddy and I love you with all our hearts! Happy first birthday, sweet baby Thomas!

Thomas: Eleven Months

Eleven months and Thomas is babbling away. He has his own version of crawling which looks a bit like an inchworm, and he is finally sleeping through from 10pm-5:30 or 6am. Then he'll nurse and go back to sleep till about 8:30. Yay! He loves toys and putting things in his mouth. He has his first two teeth this month--one on the bottom in the middle, and one incisor tooth on the top. We call it his vampire tooth. :) We are looking forward to celebrating his first Christmas next week!
