My baby is one month old already. She's not going to be in that squishy newborn stage for much longer. :) and :(. Nora had her check-up and is doing great. She now weighs 9 lbs, 11 oz and is 23 inches long. She is on a good little schedule and is a champion nurser and napper. That is to say, she's adjusting to being the fourth child quite well. We are still working on getting her to stay asleep from about 5-8am...she likes to wake up somewhere in there but I am just not ready for her to start the day quite that early. I have no chance of exercising and doing my Bible study if she wakes up before 7. Right now her typical day looks like this: (after sleeping lightly for a couple of hours) wake about 8am, nurse and get dressed. Hang out in the highchair while I get breakfast together for the rest of the crew. Interact a little with Mama and siblings, maybe crack a smile or two and try out some coo sounds. Nurse and go down for morning nap about 9:30 (if we are headed out for the morning, she naps in the car seat or Moby wrap). Mama wakes her up at 11:30 and we nurse. She watches the big kids eat lunch and maybe we squeeze in some tummy time. At 1pm she gets a little snack and then all the munchkins take a long afternoon nap. Nora usually wakes up around 5pm and nurses again. Then we all hang out together till Daddy gets home. After everyone but Nora has dinner, she gets a bath, nurses, and goes to bed about 6:30 or 7pm. Mama wakes her for a "dream feed" about 9:30 or 10. Then she sleeps till about 2am, nurses, and sleeps till about 5am, nurses, and the cycle begins again.
Nora likes to lock eyes with you and learn all your secrets. :) She has started smiling and making little cooing sounds. She cries very little and is easy to soothe. We are crazy about her and can't imagine our family without her in it!
