And we're back! Did you miss us? We've been enjoying lots of family time the past ten days. The Gent only had to work one day (!!!--that's the most time off he's had since he started his new job a year and a half ago) and we made the most of it. Time with just our little family, time with extended family, yummy food, trips to the zoo and the children's museum--it has been great. Baby C came back for a visit while his foster mama was on vacation for a few days. He's grown so much and we soaked up his sweet little smiles and coos. Oh, and our basement has flooded three times in ten days 'cause three of our four sump pumps are burned out. And I think one of the heating elements on the hot water heater has gone bad. So we are trying to decide whether it is time to spend $15,000 and fix the basement water issues permanently. I'm sure you know there is never a good time to spend $15,000. Oy. And Annie woke up crying at 5am (never happens) and JJ has a mystery rash so we're headed to the pediatrician. But seriously, these are all minor issues in the grand scheme of things. Our holidays were wonderful and relaxing and I'm so thankful for all the family time we were able to enjoy.
Some Christmas Eve snapshots for you . . .
Christmas Eve we were joined by Uncle Tyler, Mama Rita, Papa Gene, Honey, and Poppa. We played with the kids, they opened a few presents, we went to church, then put the babies to bed and enjoyed a Christmas Eve snack buffet while watching for Santa Claus.
