It is official - we are now proud owners of a mortgage. Er, a house.
We are actually quite excited about it. :)
We love our new "old" house and are very thankful to have wonderful family helping us get it all ready to move in to!
Our first home of our own
Annie is really thrilled

I fell off being "on top of it"
For those of you clinging to the misguided idea that I'm always on top of it (it=life), I just wanted you to know I fell off. :)
I have so much to do I just decided not to do any of it (yet). Instead I'm taking a few minutes to type out a quick post with the promise of pictures later. After three weeks of spotty to no internet, we are finally up and running again.
Tomorrow we close on our house--AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!--and we are trying to take care of some last minute negotiations over plumbing problems. And I guess I need to get by the bank and get that big check for our down payment. Hello home ownership, bye bye money.
However, if I accomplish nothing else today, I have spent time with Jesus, just a few minutes of quiet to sit at His feet, think, pray, reflect, ask. I took my puppies for a walk before the heat set in and now they are napping away. I've spent quality time playing with my baby girl, and loving the eight times a day when we sit down and nurse and just focus on each other. And tonight at 9pm, I will ignore whatever is left to do and relax with my husband. Nothing fancy, probably a glass of wine, a baseball game, and the latest edition of Real Simple. But we'll take a few minutes, stop the running, and just be together.
Breathe in, breathe out.
'k, enough of this! Laundry just stopped, dishwasher to be emptied, pants to be hemmed, checkbook to balance, dinner to make, health insurance to research, and oh yeah--a whole house to pack and move in two weeks, yikes!

Annie's Longest Car Trip Yet
Prelude: My internet is STILL not working. Cable guy has been to our house four times and nothing doing. They are supposed to have it fixed by Friday but I'm not holding my breath. So I am sitting at our neighborhood coffee shop typing this. It is kind of fun to sit at the college hangout and drink my decaf. Reminds me a little of my own college days, though blogging is much more fun than studying. But I'm missing a little girl in her pj's, sleeping away in her crib while her Daddy reads his paper and watches baseball close by. Yup, I'm a homebody through and through!
Honey and Annie and I just returned from Annie's longest car trip yet. With stops, it took us about twelve hours to get to Cincinnati. Annie was a trooper. I still can't believe how good she was! We had the best time seeing old friends. And eating Graeter's ice cream. ;)
On our way, we stopped in Nashville to have lunch with our friend Bonnie. She just bought a new house and it is beautiful! So glad we got to see it.
Then it was off to Cinci. We stayed with Mrs. Gigi, Mr. Doug, and their son, Sam. I teased Sam that he was my "practice baby." I was twelve when he was born and I thought he was so much fun! Now he is al(most) all grown up. We also got to spend time with their daughter Emmy and her hubby and with Mrs. Gigi's parents.
Annie loves to put everything in her mouth. Including Honey's cheekbone, apparently.
And of course we spent time with one of Mama's bestest friends, Auntie Jenn!!!
Auntie Jenn snapped this picture of my cutie pie. She's so talented.
Annie and I went on our first shopping trip to Ikea, aka Six Flags over Home Decor.
Adorable baby girl!
One of my favorite pictures so far:
We met Mama's friend Samantha at the outlet mall for an afternoon of shopping. Sam and I met in high school on a mission trip to Mexico. Even though we live hundreds of miles apart, Samantha is one of those friends you can just pick right up with. :)
Annie thinks Samantha is lots of fun!
Sacked out from shopping:
On our way home we stopped in Nashville to have lunch with another Samantha ("work Samantha"). Obviously, Samantha and I used to work together. Thankfully we've both moved on to jobs we find more fulfilling!!
We got home yesterday. Annie went to bed at 8pm, got up at 10 to nurse, slept till 6am, then went back to sleep till 10am. I think I wore her out. :)

House Update/Moving Update
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I just realized we are moving in one month.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Between now and then, I have a trip planned, a family wedding to attend, dinners to host, furniture to sell, furniture to buy, utilities to cancel at the old place and set up at the new, friends to say goodbye to, and the entire house to pack up and move. Plus a few million other small things and a baby to take care of.
Oh, and we get to close on our house!
Yippee!
P.S. I have lots of adorable Annie photos for you, but our internet is wonky (Charter has been here twice and still no resolution ARGH).

Uncle Tyler stealing some "shugah" (Southern for "sugar")
With Aunt Tessie and Dwight
Two sets of gorgeous blue eyes (Annie with cousin Fred)
At Nana and Papaw's, games must be played!
